stake in pedestrian issues to make their voice heard, or we have upcoming
events we would like to keep you informed about. If you are interested in being

Serve as a Pedestrian Advocate on a Citizen's Advisory Committee
We are frequently for representatives on an Citizen's Advisory
Committee. These positions come up throughout the year. If you are
interested. We can keep you
informed as opportunities arise.

to help out on some beautiful bike rides or walks? How about educating
people on how to get around Portland? without being all
alone in a car? Or the best bike route to take?
They have
tons of fun opportunities for people of a variety of interests. During
the summer we lead walks and bike rides, count bikes, talk to people at street
fairs, community events and farmers markets, plus this year we have Sunday
Parkways.

- Join Willamette Pedestrian Coalition
- Engage in Pedestrian Actions to educate drivers to share the road
- Learn how to make your neighborhood or worksite a better place for pedestrians
- Seek changes in laws to strengthen pedestrian rights
- Advocate for funding for pedestrian improvements
- Tell others about the benefits of walking, and what makes a good walking place
- Work with local governments to shape the regulation of land use
and the designs of buildings and streets to foster communities that
encourage pedestrian activities.
WPC represents the needs of pedestrians. Our effectiveness
depends on our members. The more members we have, the louder our
voice, the more we can accomplish.
Membership is open to individuals and
organizations who are interested in
supporting pedestrian issues.
Our regular annual membership is $35 a year, which includes a
subscription to our newsletter

We also have a Senior membership for $15 a year. We do not want
to exclude anyone, so for those with limited means, we offer a
'Treading Lightly' membership.
Of course, we welcome donations above these membership levels.
All membership dues and donations are tax deductible.
