children in walking or bicycling within two miles of school.
Walk + Bike to School
An
international
event held the first Wednesday of every October, with ongoing
encouragement through program activities and events for kids and
parents to inspire them to walk and bike to school.
America Walks
A national
coalition of 49 local advocacy groups dedicated to promoting walkable
communities, begun in 1996 by Willamette Pedestrian Coalition founding
member Ellen Vanderslice.
